“O Holy Night” has been one of the most beloved Christmas carols in the world ever since it was written by composer Adolphe Adam in 1847. It has since been translated into numerous languages and is performed at Christmas celebrations all over the world.

Talented singer Josh Groban recently performed a touching rendition of “O Holy Night” that has quickly gone viral. The powerful video of the song has it being set to scenes from the movie The Nativity Story. As soon as Jesus is seen being born, Groban can be heard singing, “It is the night of our dear Savior’s birth.”

We all know the story of how there was no room for Mary and Joseph at the inn, so they welcomed Jesus into the world while laying in the manger. His birth changed the world, as God was sending down his son Jesus to save all of us.

Groban continues to sing the lyrics of the song, singing, “stars are brightly shining … It is the night of our dear Savior’s birth,” before adding that the world lay “in sin and error pining.”

“Till He appeared at the soul felt its worth,” he sang.

This song is the perfect Christmas hymn because it reminds us what this time of year is all about. With all the business of the holiday season, do not forget that Christmas is really all about celebrating the birth of Jesus.
