The royal family has an annual tradition of sending out Christmas cards during this time of year. Now that the holiday season is here, we decided to take a look back at some of their best cards through the years!
The card above this story was sent out by then-Princess Elizabeth in 1942 to the British army’s Grenadier Guards regiment during World War II. The 16 year-old princess was inspired to do so by her parents, and few could have known then that she’d go on to be the longest serving monarch in British history!

Prince William and Kate Middleton sent this card of themselves with their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, last year. They have since welcomed a new addition, Prince Louis, who was born in April and will undoubtedly be appearing in this year’s Christmas card with them!
