Joe Dombrowski is a devoted teacher who goes by Mr. D to his beloved students. While he loves helping to shape their minds, he also likes to have fun with them, which is why he recently decided to give his students a super complicated fake spelling test.

Mr. D made a video of himself giving them the fake test, and it was so funny that it caught the attention of Ellen DeGeneres, who invited him on her show!

Mr. D explained that he was stunned when the clip went viral and he was overjoyed to get to talk to Ellen on the phone.

“I woke up the next morning and there were a million views and then the next day there were 20 million views, and I have Ellen on the other line in a week so never did I ever think it would turn in to what I’m doing today,” he said.

Ellen invited Mr. D on her show so that she could play a prank of her own on him, and she then gave him a check for $10,000. Instead of spending the money on himself like many people would, Mr. D decided to use it to provide interactive technology for every classroom in his school.

“I like to say teachers do the best work when we work with each other and there are so many teachers around the world sharing their craft to help other teachers get better and give the best to our students who are really why we are doing what we are doing,” he said.

When she heard what Mr. D had done with the money, Ellen invited him on her show for a second time. This time, she “surprised” the teacher by flying all of his students from their school in Michigan to her set in California. After his students came out, Ellen had another surprise for Mr. D that he will never forget!

Find out what the surprise is in the video below!
