Two friends were out driving one day when they noticed a cow that had become entangled and trapped in some barbed wire. They immediately stopped their car and ran over to her, and it quickly became clear just how desperate her situation was.
Helping animals in distress can be difficult because you never know how they are going to react. Trapped animals typically go into panic mode, and they can sometimes see the people trying to help them as another threat.
Thankfully, these men decided to risk personal injury and help the cow anyway.
Even after the men untangle her and get her hooves free, the cow continues to lay still, making it clear just how exhausted she is from her ordeal. The men continue to stay by her side until she is back on her feet and back to her normal self again.
Video of the rescue has quickly gone viral, with many praising the men for saving the cow.
“Their smiles at the end! Thanks guys,” one social media user wrote, with another adding, “I was so worried about that neck-twist.”
“Sometimes i just love human beings,” wrote another user. “This could’ve ended badly for the those people but they still put effort into helping anyways.”
Others shared their own personal stories of rescuing animals.
“Walking to my high school bus stop, I found a deer on the side hill with his right hind leg twisted up and backward over his body in a barbed wire fence,” one person wrote. “When we cut the wire and freed him I was sure he’d be crippled, but he swung his leg around and ran straight up the mountain like nothing had happened.”
