Susie Rabaca is a 36 year-old mother who has an aggressive form of acute myeloid leukemia, and she also happens to be pregnant with twins. Last month, Susie’s story went viral, and she has thankfully just found found a perfect bone marrow donor!

Susie, who is due to give birth this week, issued a plea in November for help in finding a 100 percent match to donate bone marrow to her after her sister was found to be a 50 percent match. She’s now overjoyed that she was able to find this match!

“Oh my god, to me it’s beyond amazing… joy and happiness, it really is,” she said. “It’s so exciting, it’s the best Christmas gift.”

Already the mother of three children, Susie was ecstatic when she learned she was expecting twins. Months into her pregnancy, however, she was diagnosed with leukemia. Her cancer was so severe that doctors informed her she would need a one percent match in a donor.

Susie’s story went viral with the help of country music star Carrie Underwood, who was touched by it as a mother herself. A record breaking 50,000 people signed up for Susie’s “Be The Match” registry in the week after she made her plea.

Doctors will still need to be more testing before the bone marrow transplant can be performed, but this means that Susie can now relax and focus on giving birth to her twins. We wish Susie the best of luck in both the birth of her twins and her bone marrow transplant!
