This is the time of year that children make their Christmas lists and wish for all sorts of things. Sometimes they want toys, maybe a new puppy, or a stocking full of candy. But one little boy named Owynn wanted none of those things.

Owynn is a 10 year-old and for years, he had been asking his parents to give him a brother or sister. He even added the wish to his Christmas list, and this year Santa must have decided it was time.

Stacey and Adam Lindsay had always wanted at least two kids. Stacey grew up with a family of 14 siblings and always wanted her son to have the same experience she did. Even though her and her husband had tried for seven long years to have another child, it just hadn’t happened. They had suffered five miscarriages and even tried in vitro fertilization without success.

That’s when they started considering foster care. But they knew having a child stay with them for a short time and then leave would be prove emotionally difficult on Owynn. Then something miraculous happened. Stacey and Adam met a young woman named Kendra who was hoping to place her baby up for adoption. Kendra chose Stacey and Adam to be the parents of her baby girl.

Still, because there was a chance that Kendra would change her mind, they kept the news from Owynn. Finally, on December 8, Kendra gave the couple permission for Naylee to go home with them and meet her little brother.

When Owynn entered the home, he found his newborn sister underneath the Christmas tree wrapped in blankets like the precious gift she was. The surprise was almost too emotional for Owynn to handle.
