Angela Lansbury is one of the most legendary actresses still working in Hollywood today, as her career has spanned nearly eighty years! Now, Lansbury is opening up about her role in her new movie Mary Poppins Returns and about her secret to her longevity.

Lansbury opened up about her role in the new movie, in which she plays The Balloon Lady, a beloved character in three of the eight books by PL Travers.

“To think that I would be in Mary Poppins at my age is wonderful,” Lansbury said. “It is a small cameo part but I loved filming it and to be in another Disney production. It is well cast and it is a lovely combination of fun, music and magic.”

This isn’t the first time that Lansbury has appeared in a Disney classic, as she starred in Bedknobs And Broomsticks in 1971.

“I so enjoyed Bedknobs And Broomsticks all those years ago, so being in Mary Poppins Returns is a real treat,” she said. “I feel full of energy and I certainly don’t feel 93. I like a glass of wine and take a lot of vitamins – perhaps that keeps me going.”

Lansbury has made over 100 appearances over the decades. She is best known for her roles in movies like Gaslight and The Manchurian Candidate, and for her beloved television series “Murder She Wrote,” on which she played amateur detective Jessica Fletcher.

We’re so glad that Lansbury is still hard at work today, and we can’t wait to see her in her new movie!
