There’s never a dull moment when you are a teacher. Students can be a joy to teach or a challenge. Teachers often will know after grading tests who their potential star pupils will be and which students will need a little more attention. Sometimes, however, it’s not so clear especially when students try their very best to ‘outsmart’ their teachers on a test question.

Here are some examples we’ve compiled of students’ bad test answers and the hilarious responses from their teachers.

When this student gave an obvious test answer, Nicholas Cage made an appearance!

Of course white cement is white! If this student thought that he was going to get credit for this, he’s dreaming! The teacher responded with the popular Nicholas Cage meme of the actor saying “you don’t say?” from the movie Vampire Kiss.

When in doubt, ask for dating advice!

This student had no idea what the answer was, so he decided to ask for dating advice. Though the teacher doesn’t give him credit for the wrong answer, he does offer some dating tips!

The teacher could not deny that the test was just as painful to grade as it was for the student to take!

This student got caught trying to white out answer!

She didn’t know the answer to the question, so this student thought she could make it go away by just whiting it out. Her teacher, however, let her know that this was not going to fly!
