It seemed like any other day for Ryan Estrada as he headed to school one rainy day. But in just a flash, his life the way he knew it would change in a way he never thought imaginable.

Ryan can remember swerving to miss a bicyclist that was traveling down the same road as he was on, then swerving to miss a mailbox that he almost hit. The next thing he knew, he had crashed into a tree. Witnesses that called in the accident to 911 thought he was already dead. He was thrown out of his seat in the car and was hanging out the window. Ryan says he instantly knew something was wrong.

He couldn’t feel his shoulders, move his arms, or move his legs. His mom says it was the most devastating day of her life to see her son crying, scared, and in so much pain when she got to see him in the emergency room. But on his way to surgery, something miraculous happened to Ryan. He says he was visited by his deceased Uncle Jack and a grandfather that he had never even met in real life.

They both assured him that everything was going to be okay and that it wasn’t his time yet. Instantly, Ryan says he knew that everything was going to work out and he was going to be left on earth for a reason.

Ryan doesn’t know yet what that reason is, but he is certain of one thing. Heaven is real and he’s dove into religion more than he ever has his entire life. He says he prays every day and knows that God is going to use him for something. He’s also certain that he’s going to walk again, although his doctors aren’t sure what is in store for him in that department. Ryan has a great support system around him and he’s hoping to be back in school by February.
