Who doesn’t get excited about opening their gifts on Christmas morning? I can remember as a child running down the hallway to see what Santa had left under the tree and hardly being able to control my excitement to start opening the gifts.

They were all wrapped in brightly colored paper with beautiful ribbons placed perfectly underneath the tree. If my parents put one underneath the tree before Christmas I couldn’t help but snoop around. When they weren’t watching I’d pick up the gifts and shake them attempting to guess what was inside. But apparently I’m not the only person that isn’t good at waiting for the right time to open gifts.

Prince William just revealed that it is a habit among many of the members of the Royal family. He himself wasn’t good at keeping out of the gifts according to his mother Princess Diana. She revealed in the 1980’s that she would find bits of wrapping paper in odd places around the house because her son would nab his gifts early and open them when she wasn’t watching.

Princess Diana also lacked patience for waiting on opening her gifts. “I could not resist opening my presents, as a parcel of any shape or form has never been safe with me,” Princess Diana once said.

Now the Princess and Prince have passed on the family tradition to another smaller member of the family. Prince George seems to be taking in his father and grandmother’s footsteps.

Prince William revealed in a 2016 interview that Prince George can’t help but sneak into his gifts before Christmas Day rolls around. He was only three at the time and his father thought it was quite funny. We doubt he’s outgrown the habit.

Royal events can be a bit stuffy, so who can blame the young tyke for wanting to spruce things up a bit. Be sure to share this cute story with your family and friends. It goes to show that even the royals can be a bit ornery.
