Zeus is a Jack Russell terrier, but he isn’t like most other Jack Russell terriers. He’s the beloved companion to 16-year-old Cameron Maramenides. If you haven’t heard, Cameron has a name for himself too.

He’s a member of the Team USA kiteboarding team and will be competing in the 2020 Olympics. But Zeus would be competing too if there was a puppy Olympics. He’s well known for his own set of skills that he’s picked up from joining his family on their adventures.

Cameron’s father is world-renowned kiteboarder Dimitri Maramenides, so it isn’t a surprise that the whole family enjoys the activity, even their beloved black and white terrier. Zeus has become famous in his own right and has appeared in videos and magazines showing off his skills. So one day when the family was finished with a day at the beach, they were shocked when Zeus wasn’t in his usual spot in the truck.

Devastated, the family contacted the police, posted a $3,500 reward for Zeus’s return with no questions asked, and even hired a detective to try to find the pooch. Still, there was no sign of Zeus after several days. However, on November 8th, they would get a lucky break. A young electrician was sitting outside a building waiting to take a test for his job when he saw something that caught his attention.

Miguel Camacho had seen the picture of Zeus and knew that he was missing, but then he saw a dog that looked just like Zeus sitting in a car nearby. He immediately contacted the phone number on the social media post.

The family called the police, but the police said they couldn’t do anything without a family member present. So Cameron asked Miguel if he would keep an eye on the man until their family could get there. Although Miguel needed to go take his test, he decided that helping the family was more important so he began following the man and the dog he believed to be Zeus.

After following the man for a while, the vehicle finally stopped and the man confronted Miguel about following him. Miguel informed the man that he didn’t believe the dog he had belonged to him.

As soon as Zeus heard his name, he jumped out of the strangers car and into Miguel’s vehicle. The man quickly drove off and it wasn’t long before Zeus’s family arrived to reunite with him.

The family is grateful to Miguel for his actions, and offered the $3,500 reward to Miguel. Although he knew nothing about the reward, he happily accepted it and says he’s going to put it into a savings account for his children.

The man who stole Zeus has not been located by the police as of yet. And luckily, Miguel’s teacher is going to allow him another chance to take his test after finding out why Miguel missed it.

Sounds like a pretty happy ending to me! If you agree, please share this story with your family and friends.
