We never really know what hidden treasures are inside the homes that we live in. This is especially true for people who live in older homes that has had numerous other residents in the past.

We’ve compiled a few surprising treasures that people randomly found in their own homes! These will certainly have you digging around to see what you can find in your house.

This Arizona couple found an old bottle of bourbon and over $50,000 in cash!

A couple from Phoenix was remodeling their home when they took out their kitchen island and found a safe! They suddenly remembered that a combination was carved into their medicine cabinet, and when they tried it, the safe opened! Inside the safe was a 1960 bottle of bourbon and $51,080 in cash! In addition, they discovered a book, A Guide for the Perplexed by E.F. Schumacher that had clues for a treasure hunt. They still have no idea what to make of the money, but we hope they spend it well!

A long lost Paul McCartney album was found in a home.

British pop star Cilla Black scored a massive hit back in 1964 with the song “It’s for You,” which was specially written for her by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Over the years, it was rumored that McCartney had recorded a version of the song and sent it to her, but it was thought to be lost. After Cilla died in 2015, her family was going through her belongings when they found an envelope with “It’s For You” written on it. They assumed it would be a recording of hers, but they were shocked to find that it was actually McCartney’s long lost recording!

They ended up auctioning the recording for $22,306!

Finally, this lucky man found money to pay off his house in the walls!

After buying a home that was built in the 1930s, a 35 year-old man was lucky to find $45,000 in cash in the basement ceiling! Alongside the cash was a Cleveland newspaper from the 50s. Though the bills were old, they were still found to be usable, and the man used the cash to pay off his mortgage!
