Many company founders celebrate the holiday season by giving back to their employees in small ways. One company founder, however, just decided to go above and beyond to give thanks to his loyal employees!

Earlier this week, Mark Baiada, the chairman and founder of Bayada Home Health Care, hosted a luncheon for his employees in Philadelphia. During the luncheon, he surprised them in a way that they will never forget.

“I’m taking $20 million, dividing it up and giving it to everybody,” Mark said to them with tears in his eyes. “I wanted to show some gratitude to everybody for all the hard work you’ve done taking care of our clients.”

Worth $1.4 billion, this company has 32,000 employees who get a variety of different salaries based on their seniority in the company. Some higher up people in the company get paid thousands of dollars, but newer workers get more modest sums. Even those who have retired from the company since 2010 got a check in the mail from Mark.

“I just want to say thank you to them all,” Mark explained. “Thanksgiving is a season of gratitude. You look around your life and say, ‘I’m so fortunate.’”

This isn’t the only way that Mark is giving back over the holidays! He also announced plans to turn his business into a nonprofit in January so they can start “putting mission over money.”

It’s so refreshing to see a company founder and chairman be appreciative of his employees enough to give back to them in such a generous way. Find out more about this in the video below!
