Winter is right around the corner, which means millions of Americans are looking for ways to stay warm. Now, one grandma’s hack for staying warm inside is going viral, and you’ll definitely want to try it yourself in the coming months!

This grandmother is from Alaska, which has a notoriously cold winter. If anyone knows a good hack for staying warm in winter, it’s definitely an Alaska resident!

On her YouTube channel AlaskaGranny, this grandmother shares various hacks that she’s picked up during her lifetime. One of her most popular hack is an insulation hack that involves covering your windows with bubble wrap.

“This is a technique that is simple to do, and helps keep the inside of your home warm and cozy,” she wrote in the video description. “The bubble wrap will stay for a long time, is easily removed, and won’t harm the window.”

Simply cut the bubble wrap so it will fit your window, spray the side with the bubbles on it with water, and place it on the glass. Put some pressure on the bubble wrap until it sticks, then leave it there for the duration of winter!

“It pulls right off in spring,” the grandmother said.

Social media users have said that this hack really works and that it saves them money.

“Bubble wrapped my front storm door, mudroom windows and storm door, intending to do more around the house. I felt an immediate difference!” one social media user wrote, another adding, “I’ve done this recently to some windows in my house. Where my dining room french doors are located, this area has always been cold in the winter months. I just did this for eight panes on the doors, and wow, what an improvement! I’ve read that if the glass is 1-R then the bubble wrap changes the R value to 2-R. I’ve done this to several areas of the house, and the house is a lot warmer now!”
