Every day, this devoted father waits at the bus stop with his young sons. The father recently took to the Next Door app to say that he had been flipped off by a man in a truck that morning. The dad was not expecting this to happen next!

“This morning I was at the bus stop with my boys, and a man in a blue truck decided to flip us off with his hand gesture, I will take my boys to your house so you can explain why you felt the need to do that,” the father wrote. “We did nothing wrong just waiting for the school bus.”

The father was stunned when the man in the truck saw his post and responded.

“I wish to apologize for my actions. It was not appropriate,” the man in the truck wrote. “But if you please not park so that your headlights shine directly into my windows for about 10 minutes very school day morning. Again I’m sorry. It will not happen again.”

“I do apologize for my lights, but my youngest son is Autistic and scared of the dark,” the father responded. “I wasn’t even thinking about my lights, just trying to comfort my son. I will turn my lights off tomorrow. Thank you for apologizing. God bless you.”

“I’m sorry again,” the trucker wrote. “If your son feels better with them on, it’s ok.”

With our country more divided than ever right now, this exchange is incredibly touching, as it shows what can happen when we actually communicate with each other. If we focused more on coming together and less on attacking each other, our country would be a better place.

Kudos to these two gentlemen who were willing to listen and apologize to one another.
