It’s that time of year again and people are starting to think about decorating their house for the holidays, that is, if they haven’t already. If you’re like me, you like to add something new every year.

While going to the store and buying something new isn’t a bad idea, depending on what you buy, it can get very expensive. That’s why if you are even a little bit crafty, there are plenty of DIY Christmas decorations out there that you could make.

Take for example this pallet Christmas tree. Not only is it super easy to make, it is incredibly cute and would make a perfect addition to almost any Christmas decor. This adorable tree can be made for less than $5 and you don’t need any fancy tools. All you need is a pallet, of course, some sort of marking tool, a hammer, and a jig saw or hand saw.

After the Christmas tree is completed (you can see directions how to make it in the video below), the fun part begins. This is also where you get to fix the tree to fit in with whatever style of decor you have. Some people, like in the video below, sand their tree down to make it nice and smooth so they can paint it. But if you prefer a more rustic look you don’t have to do that.

You can paint the tree entirely including decorations, or you can paint it and add decorations separately such as lights and ornaments. If painting isn’t your cup of tea, there are other options too.

You can leave your tree “naked” and just enjoy it’s rustic simplicity, add just a bit of green or white paint for a shabby chic look, or even try dressing up your tree a bit with your favorite Christmas saying.

However you choose to finish up your tree, it is sure to be a hit this holiday season. So check out the video below, head to the garage, and get busy! Be sure to share this video with your family and friends. This would be a great group project too.
