Christmas is a special time of year and it is quickly approaching. We like to decorate our houses, hang up lights, and start buying gifts to give to those we love. But for one family, Christmas wasn’t going to be the same.

Marcus “Junior” Cook is just four years old, but this may be his last Christmas. The little one lives in Sahuraita, Arizona, just south of Tucson, and he is battling a terminal brain tumor. He was diagnosed with cancer a year ago and just a few months ago the family got the news that no parent ever wants to hear. Junior’s brain tumor was no longer treatable and his time was limited.

That’s when the Rancho Community stepped in to help. Blaire Mathias, a friend of the Cook family reached out to the community to organize an early birthday and Christmas celebration. Junior will turn five on December 15, and the outpouring of support for the little boy was astounding. The firemen in the community decorated the family’s home with lights and other decorations and Junior was even named honorary mayor and police chief.

Other community members decorated their homes with blue lights, Junior’s favorite color, and they even made it snow for Junior. Santa even made an early arrival with plenty of gifts for the little one.

Junior’s family says that everyday with Junior is a celebration and he’s always smiling, but this particular celebration was very special and one they will never forget.

Check out the video below to learn more about Junior’s story and his celebration and be sure to share it with your family and friends.
