The story of a woman identified only as Casey as going viral this week, and it is as heartbreaking as any Hollywood tearjerker.

Casey took to social media to recount how she read her cheating fiancé’s text messages to his mistress when she got to the altar instead of her vows.

“This was supposed to be the happiest day of my life, instead, I knew it was the end of my dream relationship and everyone was going to witness it,” Casey wrote. She added that her fiancé, who she called “Alex,” had been dating her for six years.

“I felt he was The One instantly,” Casey wrote. “Our families became friends, our lives were entwined, and I believed we’d live happily ever after.”

Casey added that the night before her wedding, she was emailed screenshots from a number that she did not recognize. “I wouldn’t marry him. Will you?” the message attached to the screenshot stated.

The screenshots showed a racy text message between Alex and another woman, and it included photos of the two together.

“The texts were dated from months to only days before,” Casey recounted. “There was no questioning the legitimacy of these messages. I just knew.”

Though Casey was heartbroken, she felt that it was too late for her to cancel the wedding.

“How could I cancel when everyone had already traveled to be there and everything was paid for?” she wrote.

On the morning of her wedding, Casey decided to get her revenge. After calmly walking to the altar, she told her family and friends the truth.

“There will be no wedding today,” she said. “It seems Alex is not who I thought he was.”

Casey said that her fiancé “tried to grab my hands but I put down my flowers to reveal my phone in my hand. I read every single message she sent me. With each word, more color left Alex’s face.”

“I let my weeping eyes rise and meet his, and he had not one thing to say,” Casey explained. “He stalked out of the church with his best man trailing behind him. His family looked on, horrified.”

Recalling that the scene was “horrible,” Casey said she thanked everyone for coming.

“There will not be a wedding reception today, but instead, there will be a celebration of honesty, finding true love and following your heart even when it hurts,” she said.

While the ceremony itself was painful, Casey said that they had “one hell of a party” that night. It’s safe to say that Alex will think twice before he cheats on a woman again!
