An Arizona bird shelter has taken to social media to find the owner of a bedazzled pigeon who was found wearing a rhinestone-covered vest.

The bird, who has been nicknamed “rhinestone bird” and “Liberace,” was found in Glendale by a woman who then handed him over to the Fallen Feathers rescue and rehabilitation facility for birds in Phoenix. The woman said that since the bird was wearing the snazzy flight suit, he couldn’t fly away, and she feared another animal would eat him.

Judy Kieran, the founder of Fallen Feathers, took to Facebook to try and find his owners.

“Looking for the owner of a lost pigeon that was turned in today,” Judy wrote alongside his photo. “The bird was wearing the flight suit with rhinestones. If you know the owner we have your friend here waiting.”

The bird quickly became a viral sensation, with people all over the world calling him things like “fabulous,” “fancy” and “rhinestone bird.”

“Looks like it’s maybe El Chapo’s pigeon with that fancy gold encrusted vest,” one social media user wrote, with another adding, “You have to name him Elvis!!!”

Judy later shared more photos of the beloved bird.

While the Judy and her coworkers are having fun with the bird, they also are desperate to find the owners, who they say clearly took great care of him.

“Apparently he did belong to somebody, because he does keep going to cages and being as friendly as he is, he’s missing his home,” said Judy.

Please SHARE this story so we can help find this bird’s owners as well!
