Ophelia White had always thought she was a Christian, but it wasn’t until she reached the age of 94 that she finally decided to be baptized and really accept Jesus as her savior.

It was her friend Joy Campbell who led Ophelia to God. Ophelia says she thought for years that she was a Christian, but it was Joy who really taught her about religion and that’s when she realized she didn’t really have a relationship with God.

Now Ophelia is hoping her faith and message will spread and that her actions will show people that it is never too late to make a confession of faith the way she did.

It was Pastor Todd Free at the Cook Baptist Church in Ruston, Louisiana, that baptized Ophelia. He says that she is an inspiration, particularly for senior adults. He says it is also heartwarming to know that God is still touching hearts even in the elderly years.

Ophelia’s testimony has been viewed as a gift of God by the church congregation and they feel blessed to have been a part of her experience. They hope that it will inspire others to take the same path that she did.

Campbell, who was Ophelia’s roommate, says her husband, Henry, has a very similar story to Ophelia’s. He had even been a deacon at their church, but realized later that he didn’t really have a relationship with God the way he should. He converted at the age of 64.

Campbell says that Ophelia is living proof that it never is too late to accept Jesus, and that we should never give up trying to talk to people about God for that reason. “Sometimes it takes time, a lot of time,” she said.

If you believe that Campbell is right and are inspired by Ophelia’s story, please share this heartwarming story with your family and friends. It may be just the inspiration that someone needs to take that next step.
