Some of us live near the beach and so we take it for granted. We know how beautiful and relaxing it can be to sit on the beach and listen to the waves crashing into the shore. The feeling of sand squish up between our toes and the smell of the salty ocean breeze can be therapeutic.

But for some people, seeing the beach is only a dream. As is the case with one 90-year-old woman named Enid Weide. Enid was born in 1927 and had witnessed lots of things in her life.

She had lived through the Great Depression, remembers World War II, saw the political unrest of the 1960’s, and even remembers the big hair craze from the 1980’s.

And although she had lived through all of those things, there is one thing that Enid had never experienced. She had never seen the ocean or set foot on the beach.

After her husband died in 2014, Enid began spending time with her two daughters. One lived in New Jersey and the other in California. That’s when they decided that it was time for her to experience the ocean.

They made arrangements to use a special wheelchair that would get her across the beach in the sand so that she could finally touch her toes in the sand and feel the water crashing at her feet.

When Enid realized what was happening, she cried great big crocodile tears of joy, and so did her daughters. It didn’t take long before she was laughing and splashing like a little kid.

Check out the adorable video below of Enid’s trip to the beach and be sure to share it with your family and friends. You can’t help but be happy watching this!
