Fans worldwide are still in mourning for the legendary singer Aretha Franklin, who passed away back in August at the age of 76. Since we all miss Franklin very much, many are taking to the internet to listen to some of her best songs. Now, with two months to go before Christmas, a remix of Franklin’s rendition of the classic song “Silent Night” is going viral.

Franklin’s 2008 version of “Silent Night” was re-released this week as a remix that strips away the orchestrations and backing vocals. What’s left is only the powerful voice of Franklin backed only by the sound of her own piano playing.

“Her beautiful spirit is radiant throughout the record and this new mix of ‘Silent Night’ showcases what an incomparable force she truly was, both on vocals and piano,” said Tena Clark, the album’s producer.

This remix was released to promote the upcoming vinyl release of “This Christmas,” which is the only holiday-themed offering in Franklin’s repertoire.

“Christmas is so special for so many reasons,” Franklin said in 2008. “Each time it comes around, you hear very, very little on me. I’m not in the mix.”

With the release of this remix, Franklin is definitely in on the mix this year! Social media users can’t get enough of the remix.

“Love, love, love. Rest in peace Aretha,” one user wrote, another adding, “Just wonderful God’s always with her. Her heavenly father.”

There really will never be another talent like Aretha Franklin! Check out the remix of “Silent Night” for yourself below.
