Back in May, billions of people all over the globe watched as Prince Harry married Meghan Markle in a lavish ceremony at Windsor Castle. Just five months later, the royal couple has stunned their fans with an announcement that we have all been waiting for!

Kensington Palace announced on Monday that Meghan is pregnant with her first child! Palace officials confirmed that Meghan is about 12 weeks pregnant, meaning she is likely due sometime in April.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” Kensington Palace tweeted.

“The Queen was told, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Duchess of Cornwall – they chose that day to spread the happy news around and then recover and relax, get on a plane and then put out the news for the rest of us,” said the BBC’s royal correspondent Jonny Dymond.

Harry and Meghan’s child will now be seventh in line for the throne. Rumors had been swirling that Meghan was pregnant in the last few days, as she appeared to be hiding a baby bump whenever she was seen in public. She was photographed in Australia over the weekend holding two big purple folders in front of her stomach.

It is not yet known whether Meghan is carrying a boy or a girl. We want to wish her the best of luck in her pregnancy!
