Police officers need to be ready for absolutely anything when they report for work each day, as they have no idea what they will be called upon to do. While they need to prepare themselves for dangerous situations, they are also sometimes called to do something that ends up being hilarious in hindsight. That’s exactly what happened to the cops in this story!

Police officers with the San Bernadino County Sheriff’s office had to use some very unorthodox methods to lure a huge hog back to his home last Saturday.

It all started when the officers were called about a “pig the size of a mini horse” wandering around a Highland, California neighborhood. The officers had gotten previous calls about this pig, so they were already aware of where he lived.

One of the officers had a bag of Doritos in her bag, and the quick thinking cops decided to use this treat to lure in the pig. The officers left a trail of Doritos for the pig that led right back to his house!

“We were able to put him back in and secure the gate. It was fun!” one of the officers said.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s office took to Facebook to say that the Doritos that they used were “Poppin Jalapeños,” and though they did not know the hog’s real name, “deputies affectionately nicknamed him ‘Smalls.’”

“Crime fighting to safely securing a mini horse sized pig, we do it all,” they added.

They also took to Instagram to post a video of the pig that has since gone viral. Check it out below!
