A mother from Cleveland, Ohio has found herself becoming a viral star when the internet fell in love with the intricate Halloween costumes that she made for her sons.

Stephanie Pokorny has been crocheting since she was a teenager, so making her sons’ costumes was no problem for her.

“I learned from my grandma who used to crochet things all the time for veterans and church groups,” Stephanie said. “I have always been crafty.”

A mother of four boys, Stephanie has been making her children’s costumes since they were born. It was only after the birth of her two youngest sons, Jack, 3, and Jacob, 6, that Stephanie began to make more complicated costumes.

“One time Jack was the caterpillar from ‘Alice and Wonderland,’” she said. “And Jacob was Clint Eastwood from ‘A Few Dollars More.’”

Stephanie has been letting the boys pick their costumes in recent years, and she’s been making whatever they want regardless of how ridiculous they are.

“Last year, Jack wanted to be a Mickey Mouse pizza,” she said. “[I said], ‘What’s a Mickey Mouse pizza?’ But that’s what he wanted. So, I made him a Mickey Mouse pizza.”

Stephanie explained that it takes her about 25 to 40 hours to make the costumes.

“This year Jacob wanted to be predator after watching the movie with his dad. That costume took around 40 hours to complete,” she said. She has no problem spending time doing this, as this is a tradition that her own mother passed down to her.

“My mom used to make my costumes for me when I was little,” Stephanie said. “One year I was this really elaborate Missy Piggy. And another year I was Rapunzel with this long wig. Halloween has been a love since probably before I knew what making crafts was.”

These boys are lucky to have such a crafty mother! Check out Stephanie’s creations in the video below!
