Meet Anthony Mancinelli, the world’s oldest barber who is still cutting hair even though he is well over 100 years old!

Born in 1911, Anthony is 107, yet he still cuts hair full time at the barbershop where he has worked for the past 97 years. In fact, he still works a full eight hour day five times a week!

Born in Naples, Italy, Anthony sailed to the United States with his family eight years later, landing in New York City on September 11, 1919. Anthony’s family moved to Newburgh, which is now New Windsor, because an aunt of his lived there. Anthony resides in the town to this day.

Anthony was only ten years-old when he started cutting hair in 1921. Warren G. Harding was president at the time, and haircuts only cost 25 cents! These days, he is considered one of the most reliable employees at Fantastic Cuts.

“He never calls in sick,” said Jane Dinezza, the salon’s owner. “I have young people with knee and back problems, but he just keeps going. He can do more haircuts than a 20-year-old kid. They’re sitting there looking at their phones, texting or whatever, and he’s working.”

When asked if he has any plans to retire, Anthony replied, “Why would I?”

It’s so inspiring to see someone like Anthony prove to the world that age is just a number! Social media users everywhere can’t get enough of him.

“Just think he was around before tv, during prohibition, during segregation, half a dozen wars, God only knows the stuff he has seen,” one user wrote, another adding, “What he loves doing in life is what keeps him going.”
