The story below is a true story about a young man who wasn’t afraid to pay the price for his poor behavior. He was even brave enough to admit to the girl’s father who he impregnated that he needed help. Read the story below to see how it all played out.

The girl’s father was a general manager at a car dealership. His daughter was just 17 when she went to a party, had sex, and got pregnant. She didn’t tell her family who the father was.

Then one Sunday afternoon, several months into his daughters pregnancy, he was sitting outside enjoying the view when an old truck pulled up. A young man got out of the truck and walked over to the man.

“Are you Stacy’s dad?” he asked. “Yes,” replied the man. “Are you here to see her?” The young man replied, “No sir. I’m here to talk to you. Can I sit down?”

The man told him to have a seat, then the young man explained that he is just 18-years-old, just finished high school, and not very book smart. He told the man he didn’t feel like he had much of a future. “I understand Stacy is pregnant,” the young man finally said.

The man said that his daughter was indeed pregnant, to which the young man told the man that he is the father. “I figured as much,” said the man. “What’s going on?”

“Well, I don’t love your daughter and I shouldn’t have done what I did. But I’m soon to become a father without a good income. I know you run multiple car dealerships and one can make good money selling cars. I want to come work for you so I can make enough money to support my child and be a good father.”

The man looked at him and asked what kind of work he wanted to do. The young man replied that he’d like to sell cars as a salesman. “You don’t need a degree if you are willing to work long and hard hours. You can can make good money,” said the young man.

The man explained to the young man that he was right then said, “Now son, you got some balls coming over here telling me you got my daughter pregnant when you don’t even love her and then asking for a job.”

“I figured this was my best option of finding a job to make enough money to support my kid,” said the young man. To which the older man replied, “I want you to be at my dealership tomorrow in your Sunday best at 8 a.m. Do you understand?”

“Yes sir,” said the young man. Ten years later, the young man is a store manager and one of the best hires the man ever made. He’s also an awesome father to two children. He is married to another woman and they have a child together too.

The young man shares custody of the man’s grandchild with his daughter, and although he made a mistake, and the situation isn’t ideal, the man says he admires the young man for owning up to his responsibilities and being a real father.
