While many grocery stores offer this perk, there is nothing like the free samples at Costco. Here are some of the best things about the Costco free samples!

They’re unlimited

Yes, you read that right! You can have as many of these samples as you want! In fact, employees are specifically told that they can’t enforce limits on the samples, so feel free to go to town on them!

Sample workers don’t work at Costco

Though it may seem like these workers are employed by Costco, they actually work for a totally different company called Club Demonstration Services (CDS), which assigned them to a particular store.

Employees keep everything very clean

CDS workers are taught to take cleanliness extremely seriously as they hand out their samples. All of the equipment that they use has been sanitized and the employees are told to switch up their gloves every five minutes. As soon as the workers touch a product with their hands, they throw it away.

There’s a prime time to sample

An employee just revealed that the best time to grab a sample is between 1 and 2 in the afternoon on a Saturday or Sunday. Though this is the busiest time of the week at Costco, all the shifts are out at the same time. This means that you will have more variety in your sample options.

Kids need a supervisor

It’s a CDS rule that that children must have their parents around to sample. This is because of allergies, as kids could be allergic to something in the sample and not even know it. Workers need to get permission from their parents to give them the product.
