Fall is finally in full swing, which means Americans everywhere are aching to be somewhere that they can see the gorgeous fall colors. The best part of this time of year is watching the leaves change, which is why we’ve compiled eight of the best places in the United States where you can see this happen!

Green Mountain, Vermont

There’s no place like Vermont this time of year. Travel to Groton State Forest to see miles and miles of trees with red, yellow, orange, and green leaves.

Berkshires, Massachusetts

This area is full of farms, parks, and other vast open spaces that will allow you to get a great look at the fall foliage.

Leavenworth, Washington

This town is very unique in that it was built Bavarian style. There are tons of quirky shops and restaurants in the area that are fun to explore as you look at the fall foliage all around you.

Franklin, Tennessee

This small town is best to visit late in the fall because it is not until early November that the autumn colors really start to show. The amount of history that this town has makes it a fun tourist destination year-round.

Door County, Wisconsin

Tour this town’s lighthouses and farms or frolic in it’s apple orchards as you enjoy the fall colors all around you!

Stowe, Vermont

Known as the “Fall’s Colors Capitol,” this town has tons of breathtakingly stunning fall colors to look at. Colorful trees surround the entire town, so you’ll feel like autumn is all around you the entire time you’re there!

This area has the most visually pleasing fall colors in the state of Connecticut. Be sure to keep your eye out for the town of Kent, which was recently named the #1 Fall Foliage Town by Yankee Magazine.

Blue Ridge Parkway, Virginia

This winding road takes you through the incredible fall colors of the Great Smoky Mountains! There’s nothing like driving through this area!
