Keith Young was a devoted father of three who joined the New York Fire Department back in 1998. When he wasn’t working at the fire house, Keith loved being a chef. He even wrote his own cookbook and appeared on television shows like “Chopped” and “Throwdown With Bobby Flay.”

Eight years ago, he invented the Cup Board Pro, a cutting board equipped with a built-in cup to make it easier to clean while chopping. Sadly, as he worked on his prototype, his beloved wife Elizabeth was diagnosed with breast cancer. She tragically lost her battle with cancer in 2012.

Keith and Elizabeth’s three children Christian, Keira, and Kaley were just starting to come to terms with this loss when their father was diagnosed with cancer as well. Keith died last March from this rare form of cancer that he got from his time as a first responder after the September 11 terrorist attacks. He was only 53 years-old when he passed.

As they grieved for their father, Keith’s three children decided to make his dream of appearing on the television show “Shark Tank” a reality. They went on the show to see if they could move his invention forward, and the judges were left incredibly touched by the Youngs.

“Out of my entire decade of being on #SharkTank this was the most emotional pitch I have ever been through. It took everything in me not to walk off the set because my emotions ran so crazy because I was there and lost many friends from 9/11,” tweeted judge Daymond John.
