A heartwarming video is going viral this week showing the moment a group of kindergartens sang “Happy Birthday” to their school’s janitor, who was turning 60.

Students at Hickerson Elementary in Nashville, Tennessee were caught on camera singing “Happy Birthday” to the man they know as Mr. James using American Sign Language.

“Our Kindergarten classes learned how to sign Happy Birthday for Mr. James’ birthday today. He was so surprised!” said the school’s principal Jimmy Anderson.

James Anthony, the custodian, was overcome with emotion when he saw what the students were doing for him.

“Mr. James teaches the kids sign language every now and then, teaches them good manners and how to treat other people,” the principal added.

Assistant Principal Kathy Crabtree explained that since James is deaf, students have a hard time understanding him, but they have still become his friends nonetheless.

Since the video has gone viral, people all over the world have been wishing James a happy birthday.

“Happiest of birthdays, Mr. James! You haven’t aged a bit,” one social media user wrote. “What a blessing you have been to the students and staff of many Coffee County schools.”

“I am 34 years old and Mr James was my janitor at Hickerson as well!!!! GOD BLESS this wonderful man!!!!!!!!!!” a second user added.

It’s so sweet to see the amount of love these children showed their janitor! Find out more about this in the video below, and SHARE this story so that your friends and family can see this as well!
