Lexi Reed and her husband Danny became viral stars after they lost nearly three hundred pounds together. Now, they are sharing their tips for the public about how they can lose weight as well.

It all started on Jan. 1, 2016, when Lexi found herself weighing almost 500 pounds. Realizing her health and life were at risk, Lexi made a New Year’s resolution to lose weight, and her husband Danny joined her in the endeavor.

Within the next year, they lost almost 300 pounds!

“We traded in our lazy nights on the couch, eating terrible foods & binge watching netflix for the gym & healthy meals,” Lexi said.

She added that losing weight has not only changed them physically, but mentally as well.

“We are stronger, closer, & will live longer healthier lives together,” Lexi said. “This journey isn’t always easy, but it’s so worth it.”

So far, Lexi has gone from 485 pounds to 239, and she intends to lose even more!

“I have fought consistently for myself since last year & i (sic) am finally living the life I’ve always wanted,” she wrote on social media.

Lexi’s first piece of advice is to always make exercise a priority. Though she works grueling 10 hour days, she says that you should always set specific time aside to go to the gym.

“I just kind of try to set it up like a business meeting. I am my own boss and I can’t cancel,” she said.

#transformationtuesday -274lbs down since January 1st together for this married couple total & counting! -224lbs for me & -50lbs for him! My favorite thing about this picture is i’m wearing his shirt in the current photo because it’s now too big for him. Also, the fact of how much happier we look. In 1 year we have become completely different people mentally & physically. We are stronger, closer, & will live longer healthier lives together. This journey isn’t always easy, but it’s so worth it. Surround yourself only with those who lift you higher. ❤ #weightloss #goals #fit #swolemate #fitcouple #fitfam #fitspo #mealprep #eatclean #gym #workout #losingweight #instafit #weightlossjourney #transform #extremeweightloss #noexcuses #grind #hustle #love #married #nodaysoff #anytimefitness #workout #exercise #motivation #naturalweightloss #traintogetherstaytogether

Lexi also says that it’s important to stay around people who are going to be supportive. She said to “surround yourself only with those who lift you higher.” Danny and Lexi kept each other motivated, always encouraging the other person to work out if they wanted a break.

#motivationmonday -362lbs ? together since last year! No meal plan, surgery, trainer, or anything like that. There is no secret pill – just hard work, determination, & consistency daily. @dannyreed5 & I set a New Years Resolution at the beginning of last year to lose the weight. Weighing in at a combined 765lbs, we knew it was time for a change. We had been together for 10 years, and had gotten comfortable. We spent many nights sitting on the couch binge watching Netflix & mindlessly eating, as most Americans do. We had many reasons to lose weight, including being parents on day, growing old together, & to be the best healthy versions of ourselves. We started counting calories, working out 5x a week for 30 mins on the elliptical, and setting goals. This journey is hard enough, but even harder when those around you don’t support you. Surround yourself with those who see the greatness in you, even when you don’t see it yourself. We want to share our story to help inspire others to take control of their life & know change is possible. Tag someone who is needing some encouragement or motivation & if that person is you – start today! ❤ #goals #motivation #fit #fitfam #obesetobeast #weightloss #weightlossjourney #motivation #fattofit #swolemate #fitcouple #dietbet #diet #selflove #plussize #effyourbeautystandards #fitspo #countingcalories #fitfam #fitness #gym #anytimefitness #fitspo #losingweight #weightlosstransformation #transform #gymlife #fitnessmotivation #diet #thickfit #love #fitnessmotivation #transformationtuesday #dietbet #fatgirlfedupsdietbet

Finally, Lexi says that you should incorporate more lean proteins, like chicken and salmon, and more vegetables into your diet. Instead of focusing on all the unhealthy foods you are avoiding, focus on all the yummy healthy foods that you can eat!
