Most people see wearing a ball gown as a fantasy that only happens in fairy tales. However, a woman named Ivy Thompson decided to step up and make this a reality!

When Ivy heard a masquerade ball was about to take place in Seattle, Washington, she decided to create a spectacular gown for it. Guests at the ball thought the gown was breathtakingly gorgeous, but they had no idea that there was an element to it that was going to shock them.

Though Ivy had no professional training in sewing, she had grown up with a mother and grandmother who were both passionate about sewing. She drew her inspiration for the gown from the Disney version of Cinderella. Once she got to work, Ivy decided to make a gown that could transform into a butterfly in a matter of seconds! It was going to take a lot of work, but Ivy was determined to do it.

Ivy brought her plan to life by including a snap panel and some laces in her dress. With just a pull of a cord, Ivy’s dress completely changes from a gown into a butterfly! At the ball, Ivy made sure to spin as she pulled the cord, making her transformation seem like pure magic!

It’s truly amazing how creative people can get with their fashion designs. Needless to say, Ivy was the belle of the ball with her unbelievably awesome dress!

Check out Ivy’s gown and the transformation she included in the video below!
