Getting pulled over can be get the best of anyone’s nerves. Seeing the flashing blue and red lights in your rear view mirror makes most of us break out into a sweat. But for Adrianne Hudson, getting pulled over by the police shot her 7-year-old son, Jacob Hudson, nerves through the roof.

Jacob as PANDAS, pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorder, caused by streptococcal infections. It gives him anxiety anyway so when his mom found herself being pulled over with her son in the backseat, panic set in.

Adrianne rarely drives at night, but this particular night she must have had her mind on other things and traveled over the speed limit. Knowing the drill, she immediately pulled over and kept her hands on the wheel.

Her son Jacob wasn’t so calm in the backseat. He began freaking out and saying he was going to run out of the car. He was so upset he actually told the officer just to give his mom a ticket because he wanted to leave.

The bright flashing lights were a sensory overload for Jacob, and when Officer Hamilton realized how uneasy Jacob was he told him not to be afraid and asked him if he liked police cars.

Adrianne immediately could tell the cop was trying to calm her son, so she joined Officer Hamilton in encouraging Jacob to go see the police car. The officer then escorted Jacob and Adrianne to the car where they even got to take pictures inside the car.

Adrianne says she is thankful for the officer’s actions. She says he didn’t know her son had disabilities, but he knew he was upset and wanted to make him feel more comfortable.
