“Today” host Kathie Lee Gifford just spoke out to send a brutal message to body shamers.

As a television personality, Kathie Lee is often mocked by internet trolls for her appearance. Last week, she explained to her cohost Hoda Kotb that lately, she’s been getting a lot of hate from people alleging that she’s “too skinny” or snidely asking if she’s sick. She took time on the show to let everyone know that she’s “fit, so healthy, so happy, and so hopeful!”

“I’ve had three doctors’ appointments in the last two weeks — [I’m] healthier than I have ever been in my entire life,” she told Hoda. “More fit, more excited … I’m doing work 10 times what I did when I was in my twenties. And if that’s upsetting to people, they have to look at themselves.”

Kathie Lee added that in the end, the “real people in her life” are thrilled for her and that everyone else’s opinion means nothing.

Hoda praised Kathie Lee and explained that the TV host’s weight loss comes from the fact that she’s working on her new film Love Me to Death.

“I started getting in shape for that movie last fall because I knew we were going to shoot it in the spring,” Kathie Lee clarified. “That’s what actresses do.”

She then said that there’s a double standard in which actors like Robert De Niro are told they “love their craft” when they change their weight for a role while she got attacked.

Kathie Lee looks great and for those criticizing her – as the saying goes, “If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.”
