When you think of football, you likely think of boys. But one young girl had always dreamed of playing football. She finally made her dreams come true by becoming placekicker on her middle school football team. Eventually, she even became kicker on her high school varsity team.

Now, this same little girl is a senior who is chosen as homecoming queen. Astoundingly, a few short hours later, makes the winning kick to boost her team to victory. Sounds like something out of a movie doesn’t it?

For one Mississippi teen, it wasn’t a movie plot line, but her reality Friday night. Kaylee Foster was crowned queen of the 2018 Ocean Springs High School homecoming festivities. Once the photos were complete, she quickly changed into her football uniform.

Once with her teammates, Kaylee got down to business. When regulation play ended, the game was tied 6 to 6. It was Kaylee’s kick that pushed Ocean Springs ahead of the opposing Rebels 13 to 12 in overtime play.

Kaylee said afterwords that she really didn’t know what to say. In an interview afterwards, she posed for pics wearing her football uniform and queen’s tiara. “This has just been so wonderful,” she said. “I love football and I love Ocean Springs.”

How amazing is that? Be sure to share this heartwarming story with your family and friends. Kaylee is proof that even a true queen can be competitive and tough.
