Nubby is a puppy who was born without his front legs, so veterinarians thought putting him down was the right thing to do.

While Nubby’s mother did not reject him, he was not able to keep up with his siblings, and it was hard to get the mom to nurse him. Lou Robinson stepped up to foster Nubby, and she was told that he would not live for very long.

Lou took Nubby into the Texas home that she shares with her husband, Mark.

Lou has been rescuing animals for many years and she is the founder of a rescue group called Warriors Educate About Rescue. Lou even works teaching classes to others about how to care for animals.

In the Robinson house, Nubby does not have to compete with anyone for love and food! In the photo below, you’ll see Mark feeding him with a bottle.

Thanks to the love and care Lou and Mark gave him, Nubby continued to grow and grow.

Suddenly, things took a turn for the worse and Nubby started to refuse to eat and blow milk bubbles out of his nose.

Vets diagnosed Nubby with an esophageal abnormality, which means that his esophagus had a pouch that was trapping the milk. The vets gave him some fluids and he made a full recovery.

Nubby is now five months-old, and the Robinsons are using him to teach kids that being different is perfectly fine! He truly is an amazing little dog!
