Hollywood is typically thought of as a secular place, so it’s rare that an actor or actress speaks out about being a Christian. That’s why it came as a surprise when “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Pratt came forward this week to open up about his strong Christian faith.

During the MTV Movie and TV Awards over the summer, Pratt stunned everyone by praising God and encouraging his fans to pray.

“God is real. God loves, you, God wants the best for you. Believe that. I do,” Pratt said in the speech, adding that young people should “learn to pray.”

Pratt doubled down on this message when he was asked about it in an interview this week.

“That kind of a message, it might not be for everybody. But there is a group of people for whom that message is designed,” Pratt said. “And nothing fills my soul more than to think that maybe some kid watching that would say, ‘Hey, I’ve been thinking about that. I’ve been thinking about praying. Let me try that out.’ That’s like the only way I feel like I can repay what has essentially been a giant gift in my life.”

It’s so refreshing to see a Hollywood star who is using the platform he has been given to spread the word of God! As the star of such blockbuster franchises as “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Jurassic World,” Pratt is idolized by millions of young people all over the world. By encouraging them to find God, he’s making a huge difference in the lives of his young fans!
