It’s hard to not love a good drum line. The beat just takes over and you can’t help but dance a little. One South American band is capitalizing on that and bringing people together regardless of the differences that make each of us unique.

While most musical ensembles feature a handful of people, AAINJAA has more than 100 members. The Bogotá, Colombia based group uses drums of all shapes and sizes, tambourines, and a variety of other percussion instruments to infuse their crowds with rhythm and joy.

The video below was taken last summer and has nearly 20 million views already, which really isn’t a surprise once you watch it. The style of music they play is called batucada, which is a fast paced and repetitive cacophony of percussion instruments with influences from Brazil and Africa.

They fuse their music with dance moves throwing in waves of movement and hair flips. Translated from the indigenous Wuayuunaiki language of the region, AAINJAA roughly means “to do, to elaborate, to manufacture, and to build” according to the band’s founder Homero Cortez.

That appears to be a pretty accurate description of the band that has been performing since 2013. With roughly 1,000 members between Bogotá and Medellin, their attempts to brighten the world appear to be working.

Check out the video below and be sure to share it with your family and friends. It will have you dancing in your seat in no time!
