Sometimes all it takes is one simple act of kindness to really make another person’s entire day. James Johnston is one of those people that truly knows how it feels to help someone in need.

He owns J&J Lawn Service in West Virginia, and after a long day of work he was finally headed home when he spotted an elderly gentleman attempting to push mow his large lawn.

James says he drove by the man to start with because he was ready to go home and relax, but he felt an incredible pull towards the man and his property. James then turned around and headed back to the man.

He wasn’t about to let that poor elderly man tackle that huge lawn all by himself. So James asked the man if he could help and unloaded his lawnmower.

James says the man’s eyes lit up so he went to work. He says as he was mowing, he glanced over and saw the elderly gentleman resting his head on his wife’s shoulder. He was exhausted from trying to do the work himself.

It wasn’t long before James had the lawn mowed and was loading up the lawnmower. The man’s wife made her way over to James and thanked him profusely for his kindness.

She explained that their riding mower was broken and they didn’t have the money to fix it, so they had been using their little push mower on their huge yard.

James says it only took him 15 minutes, but it was 15 minutes that changed their life for at least a small moment. He says he hopes someone will see his story and be encouraged to help someone.

But James’ help doesn’t end there. He couldn’t get the couple out of his mind, so he started a GoFundMe page to drum up enough money to buy them a new lawnmower. He even pitched in some of his own cash towards the project.

It wasn’t long before he had exceeded his $1,000 goal and was able to buy the couple a new lawnmower so they’d never have to worry about mowing with the little push mower again.

Amazing! Be sure to share this story of kindness with your family and friends, and maybe we can encourage people to make just one simple move that could mean so much to someone else.
