Many people are afraid of snakes, but most don’t live in areas where snakes are a problem. Unfortunately for Robbie Knills, the Australian is all too familiar with this one unwanted house guest.

Knills was recently outside hanging up his laundry when he saw a huge snake climbing up the side of his house. Without hesitating, Knills grabbed his phone so that he could capture the grizzly scene on camera.

“I didn’t know they could climb houses like that – five minutes later and I would have got the scare of my life,” Knills said. “I am glad it was me hanging out the washing because the wife would probably never do it again if it was her.”

Knills had seen the snake before, so he knew that he lived nearby.

“He has lived in the rafters of the shed for about six months, but with this warmer weather, he has woken up a bit and decided to look for food,” he explained.

Knills believes that the snake even ate one of his pets.

“I was looking after a butcher bird that had a broken wing and was feeding him, but he has gone missing,” he said.

“He is closer to three meters long when he’s stretched out and not all flexed-up,” Knills said of the snake. “I freaked out the first time I saw him, but then, after a while, I got used to it.”

Knills went on to say that he is fine with the snake sticking around as long as he keeps his distance.

“He just hangs out. He comes out and sees me when I’m working in the shed,” Knills said. “I don’t trouble him, and he doesn’t trouble me.”

I have to say that Knills is one brave guy, because I certainly would not be fine with this snake living near me! SHARE this story so your friends and family can see this as well!
