An adorable video is going viral that showcases a very special relationship between a little girl and her cat.

The heartwarming video shows 4-year-old Abby Merryn reading her favorite bedtime story to her cat, Bailey. Though many cats are not too fond of snuggling, Bailey looks happy as can be as he sits on Abby’s lap to listen to the story. At times, the cat can be seen sleepily raising his head so he can look at Abby’s face before falling back asleep.

Abby’s mother Erin said that her daughter regularly snuggles up to the cat so that she can read to him. Erin, who lives in Illinois, adopted Bailey 13 years ago when she was still in college. As soon as she met Bailey, he jumped into Erin’s arms and would not let go, and they have remained best friends ever since! When Abby was born, Bailey immediately bonded with the girl, as you can see in the video below!

It’s clear that after all these years, Bailey is still sweet as can be! He’s lucky to have a girl like Abby to read to him, and she’s lucky to have such an amazing cat looking out for her! I’ve always been more of a dog person, but this video makes me want to go out and get a cat!
