Watching your hair turn gray can be a difficult part of aging for many people. Those who love their natural hair color can have a particular hard time with this, and they may resort to trying to dye their hair with harmful chemicals just to get the color that they loved back.

Many times, these chemicals can weaken your hair follicles and only make the situation worse. Some people try to use vitamins to fix the issue, but oftentimes this does not work either.

Believe it or not, experts are now saying that potato skins can fix the issue of graying hair! It turns out that there are some serious benefits in putting potato juice on your head.

“The starches in the vegetable act as a natural colorant, and have been used as a dye alternative for fabrics for centuries,” said expert Sabrina Perkins.

All you need to try out this strategy is 4 cups of hot water, 6 potatoes, a mesh strainer, Essential oil (option) and a clean bowl. First, peel six potatoes and add them to a pot filled with four cups of water. Once you have done this, boil the water for 25 minutes, and then let it sit for 15 minutes

Then, strain the liquid into the bowl and throw the peels out. You can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil while you wait for it to cool down. As you take your next shower, wash your hair as you normally would, but you should then part it and coat it with the cooled-down potato juice. Massage it into your scalp and rinse it out with cold water.

If you want to keep the mixture in longer, put a shower cap on over it before rinsing it out.

In order to see results, you need to do this at least once a week for an extended period of time. However, it’s definitely worth a try, as many are saying that it does wonders!
