Over 100 goats managed to escape their enclosure and take over a suburban Idaho neighborhood last Friday.

The 118 adult and baby goats were spotted running around the lawns of a neighborhood in Boise. The animals chewed grass and munched on branches during their time on the grassy lawns.

Neighbors came outside their homes to pet the goats, who were very friendly to them.

“Goats are great escape artists, and I guess they decided to go on an adventure today,” said owner Kim Gabica. “It’s rare that this many would get out, but they would definitely follow each other.”

Local company We Rent Goats owned the goats, and employees teamed up with neighbors to load the animals into a truck. They were able to corral the goats near a local retention pond to eat weeds and other overgrowth.

“We prefer to do jobs that require at least 100 goats,” We Rent Goats states on their website. “Typically, 100 goats will eat around a half acre a day depending on the amount of vegetation (if the weeds are tall and thick, it will take longer). If you want us to just remove one noxious weed out of your pasture, we move the goats a lot faster so they don’t eat the vegetation (usually grasses) you want to keep.”
