Flying can be a stressful endeavor for anyone. Now, Hawaiian Airlines flight attendant Kaipo Kauka is trying to make the experience of traveling easier by revealing where people should sit on an airplane depending on their personal needs and preferences.

Kauka said that if you would like to sleep, you should pick a window seat because you can rest your head on a pillow against the plane’s wall for extra support. Not only will you not be leaning on the person next to you, but you also will not get woken up when they use the bathroom!

If you use the bathroom a lot, Kauka said that you should pick an aisle seat so that you won’t have to constantly step over your seat mate. You might also want to pick a seat that is located near the bathroom.

If you get cold easily, Kauka advises you to not sit near doors or emergency exit rows.

“These exits allow external cold air to seep into the aircraft,” he explained.

Finally, Kauka says that you should sit at the front of the plane if you’re a picky eater. Flight attendants typically start handing out food from the front of the plane, making the first five rows perfect for anyone who wants to get their first pick on pre-packaged snacks and beverages.

“This part of the plane is also best for those who hate turbulence,” he revealed, since those at the front of the plane often have the smoothest ride.
