Fans everywhere are praying for music legend Aretha Franklin after her family members spoke out to say that she is gravely ill and is in hospice care.

This was confirmed by her nephew Tim Franklin, who said that her “family is there with her.”

“Aretha’s a strong woman of faith,” Tim said. “We’re all praying for her during her time of illness. We are of the belief that she’ll pull through, and her spirits are that of such.”

BREAKING NEWS: I am so saddened to report that the Queen of Soul and my good friend, Aretha Franklin is gravely ill. I spoke with her family members this morning. She is asking for your prayers at this time. I’ll have more details as I’m allowed to release.

Tim went on to tell Aretha’s fans that, “She is requesting prayer, pray for her strength.”

Though Aretha, 76, has been battling cancer for years, her family is hoping she will survive this.

“I saw her a week ago Friday and we talked for about 45 minutes to an hour. My brother was there on Saturday and she was alert, talking, laughing, joking,” Tim said. “She’s watching TV, so god forbid she sees all of this ‘Aretha’s dead,’ so I don’t want to dampen her spirits on that.”

However, reports indicate that Aretha’s loved ones have been warned that her “death is imminent.”
