Little Alex Denman was born with bilateral moderate sensorineural hearing loss. This means that from the moment he entered the world, he was nearly deaf.

For five long months he didn’t hear hardly a thing. Things we take for granted like the sound of the wind or the chirping of a bird, Alex had never gotten a chance to experience.

So when the five-month-old got fitted with hearing aids they were apprehensive about what would happen. They knew the strange sounds might overwhelm him, but they knew it was the beginning of the rest of their son’s life.

So when the technician switched on the hearing aids, his mom and dad had no idea that Alex would have such a heartwarming reaction to hearing their voices for the very first time.

As Alex’s mom began speaking to him, a big smile spread across his face. They kept the volume low so he wouldn’t be scared. Hearing his mommy’s voice for the very first time was more than exciting for the sweet little guy.

His mom later shared a video of his reaction on social media and it almost immediately went viral. Jen says she only shared it so friends and family could see and never imagined that other people would love watching the precious moment unfold.
