When Janet Adamowicz’s cat, Boo, disappeared in 2005, the cat was jut four-years-old and Janet was devastated. She put up posters of her missing cat everywhere, but never managed to find her missing kitty.

After years of looking she finally decided that she simply wasn’t going to see Boo ever again. So she adopted two other cats, Ollie in 2008 and Tessie in 2014.

So when Janet recently received a call from the vet telling her they’d found her kitty she couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She told them that both of her cats were home. It had, after all, been 13 years since Boo had gone missing.

The vet explained that they had Boo and they knew where she belonged because Boo had been microchipped. So Janet hopped in her car and went the 40 miles to the vet to see if it really was Boo.

When she got to the vet and they opened up the door, Boo immediately knew her owner and went right to her. Although Janet doesn’t know where Boo has been this entire time, she’s glad to have her back at home.

Other than being a bit dehydrated, Boo is in good health. Of course, she is a little old lady, says Janet, but she’s still very spry and frisky for her age.

Janet’s other two cats aren’t nearly as impressed by the homecoming as Janet, but they’re tolerating her. If it wasn’t for the microchip, Janet says she wouldn’t have her kitty back still.
