You never really know someone until you walk in their shoes, which is why it’s so important to be nice to your neighbors when they move in next-door.

This can be difficult to do sometimes, especially when your neighbor is a difficult person to get along with. Hillary Harris from Eau Claire, Wisconsin is a woman who had this problem with one of her neighbors.

People kept moving in and out of the home next-door to Hillary at such a fast rate that she couldn’t even keep them straight. After dealing with so many neighbors, Hillary stopped caring about being nice to them and instead started giving them the cold shoulder. Things were made even worse by the fact that Hillary had to share a driveway with these neighbors, which made it easy for tensions to build.

Then, a woman named Dawn moved into the home, and that’s when everything changed.

Much to Hillary’s annoyance, Dawn befriended her seven year-old daughter Stella. It irritated Hillary to see her daughter bond with the new neighbor.

Hillary’s husband soon became friends with Dawn, yet she continued giving her the cold shoulder. As he talked to Dawn, he learned that she was from Greenwood, Wisconsin, which is the same town that Hillary is from. Since Hillary was adopted, her husband started joking about how funny it would be if the two neighbors were related. The idea seemed so crazy that they never could have imagined it was true, which is why what happened next came as such a huge surprise to them.

As it turns out, Hillary and Dawn really were long lost siblings! What an amazing discovery for these two sisters to be able to unite and live right next door to each other after being separated all their lives!
