Cody Nichols business was only six-months old when it took a devastating hit. The former Marine had started a landscaping and fencing company called Our Troops Services that was owned and operated by fellow veterans.

Nichols says he always walked to the back of his store to check on the equipment every day, but one Sunday afternoon he was shocked to discover that it was all missing. He couldn’t believe that someone would do such a thing.

The business, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, employed veterans who were having trouble adjusting to civilian life. They did lawn care, fence building, and construction, but their work came to a halt that sad afternoon.

The crew tried desperately to fulfill their lawn contracts by using push mowers on acres of greenery, but quickly fell behind. They had no idea that someone had heard of their plight and was working to help them more than they could have imagined.

A nonprofit organization called Soldier’s Wish had gotten wind about the vets predicament and began rallying people and businesses to help the vets. One of the charity workers says they were shocked when people came out of the woodwork to help.

The organization was able to raise enough money to replace all of the lawn care equipment, and within just weeks of the theft, the charity surprised Nichols and his crew with $15,000 worth of shiny, new equipment.

Nichols says the kindness of people has really restored his faith in humanity. In an effort to make up the income that his employees lost, Nichols has started a GoFundMe page which has already raised over $7,000.
